Many congratulations to the 20 competitors who have been selected to go through to Stage Two of the competition. 

Inevitably this means that some of our competitors will be going home. Of course, this is disappointing, but the standard this year has been incredibly high and the judges have had a difficult job on their hands! And of course, those who haven’t gone through this time may go on to do well in other competitions, and may even decide to return to Hastings in future years. After all our Ambassador Thomas Kelly, who won second prize in the 2022 competition, was eliminated in one of the early rounds in 2019 and now is back as an accompanist in 2024! We send our warmest wishes to those who are not going on to the next round and thank them all for taking part.

In the meantime, we look forward to Stage 2 of the competition which begins tomorrow (Sunday 25 February).
