Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition 2022
At the White Rock Theatre and Rye Creative Centre
The sixteenth prestigious Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition will take place for the first time in both Rye Creative Centre (Stage 1 of the competition) and at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings from 24 February to 5 March 2022.
Tickets can be purchased for Stage 1 at Rye Creative Centre and Stage 2, Semi-Finals with the Royal College of Music Prince Consort Orchestra and Finals with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the White Rock Theatre.
You can book individual sessions, Finals and Semi-Finals Pass and a whole Competition Pass via the White Rock Theatre website.

Hastings International Piano is delighted to announce that a unique partnership has been agreed with The Royal College of Music to create a graduate orchestra, administered in Hastings to offer Royal College of Music graduates orchestral training and paid performance opportunities during the concerto competition semi-finals and throughout the year.
We are also thrilled that the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will return to accompany our finalists during our two-night Final. Steinway and Sons, the most prestigious piano maker in the world was recently announced as the piano sponsor for the next concerto competition.
With the first prize of £15,000, the competition in 2022 will provide twelve semi-finalists with the chance to perform a full concerto with The Royal College of Music Prince Consort Orchestra and six finalists the opportunity to perform a complete piano concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Competition entry is now by video audition only in a move to become more environmentally friendly, and entry via the website closes on February 8th 2021.
For 2022, the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition is delighted to welcome Professor Vanessa Latarche of the Royal College of Music as Jury President, who will be joined by a panel of International Jury members. Also new for 2021, the competition is offering all twelve semi-finalists the opportunity to perform a concerto with a Chamber Orchestra.
