Big Give - double the difference!

“At HIP we’re working hard to make our work more relevant and accessible to our local community through a variety of different projects and initiatives. The Big Give campaign will double every donation made in support of this aspect of our work!” Rosa Amor

Hastings International Piano is very pleased to have been chosen for this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge which takes place from 2 - 9 December. Every penny we secure during the campaign will be matched by donations from our fundraising partners, the Reed Foundation and MYA Consulting. And every penny will be used to support our work in the local community! Our fundraising target is £7,000 in all which will support:

  • Our much-loved Music in the Meadow project which creates a pop-up showcase for local pianists of all ages to perform on a grand piano in the Meadow Shopping Centre;

  • Our community ticket scheme which includes special invitations for people on low incomes or facing barriers to access, and free tickets for everyone for the first two rounds of the 2026 Hastings International Piano Competition;

  • Volunteering and internship opportunities for young people;

  • Our new Painted Pianos project, which will see artists working with community groups to turn unloved pianos into gloriously vibrant artworks to be placed in accessible spaces around the town;

  • The additional costs of livestreaming every note of the competition, so that everyone can watch the competition completely free of charge.

We’re thrilled to have been invited to take part and hope that members of the public will support us with a donation, small or large, during the campaign.

“I have been returning year after year and it is such a rare opportunity to play on a good quality piano -a baby grand, to an audience with no sense of judgement. I have found a supportive community of music lovers by coming here.” - Music in the Meadow participant, 2024
