Thomas Kelly at Vinehall School 13 September 2025

📅 Saturday 13 September 2025

Time: 7:00pm
Location: Vinehall School, Vinehall Street, Robertsbridge, TN32 5JL

Since winning second prize in the 2022 Hastings International Piano Competition, Thomas Kelly has gone from strength to strength. Last year he was awarded the Royal College of Music's prestigious Benjamin Britten Piano Fellowship, and recently he made his Wigmore Hall solo recital debut. He retains a soft spot for Sussex, and we're delighted that this year he returns to the area with a fascinating programme exploring the connection between symphonic writing for piano by Beethoven and Liszt, including Liszt's rarely heard arrangement of Beethoven's Pastoral symphony.

Programme

Ludwig van Beethoven - Sonata No 26 Op 81a Les Adieux
Franz Liszt - Symphonic Poem No 3 Les Préludes S97 (arr. Karl Klauser)

Interval

Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No 6 in F major Op68 Pastoral (arr. Liszt)
