Music in the Meadow
Music in the Meadow is making a triumphant return in 2024, transforming the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre into a hub for local pianists to showcase their talents. We’re inviting players of all ages and skill levels to book their slots to play a Bechstein Grand Piano in front of an audience.
New Commission
This year the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition is introducing a new addition to the competition. For the first time, all participants will be required to perform a newly commissioned piece. The commission for 2024 is Time Unredeemable, by the distinguished composer Lera Auerbach.

Sir Stephen Hough to Become HIP Patron
Hastings International Piano, the organisation behind the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition, is delighted to announce that the composer, writer, painter and internationally-renowned concert pianist Sir Stephen Hough, has agreed to be its Patron.
White Rock Theatre Future Assured
We are delighted that Hastings Borough Council has announced that discussions are underway with the Guildhall Trust, who run the Portsmouth Guildhall, for them to run the White Rock Theatre from February 2024.
Thomas Kelly Awarded Benjamin Britten Piano Fellowship
We are delighted that the outstanding pianist, and the 2022 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition prizewinner Thomas Kelly, has been announced as the recipient of the Benjamin Britten Piano Fellowship for 2023-24, awarded by the Royal College of Music (RCM) and generously supported by the Philip Loubser Foundation (PLF).
17th Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition Opens for Entries
The 17th Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition will take place from 22 Feb – 2 March 2024 and entry is now open, by video audition.
